Lars Mikkelsen3-765x1024At 27 years old He enrolled in the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. He was also featured in The Killing, a drama show that was telecast across the globe. Then, he appeared in Borgen III and Those Who Kill Two internationally highly acclaimed Danish dramas. He also had a leading part in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as a blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television show House of Cards, he was the president of Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje, which was broadcast in the UK in 2019 as Ride on the Storm.In addition to his mother tongue Danish, Mikkelsen speaks fluent Swedish, German and English and has also mastered diverse accents. According to Mikkelsen's statement his sources, he was taught English from his brother by listening to Monty Python recordings and watching the sketches of comedy.
