Durrani Popal relocated to Los Angeles with the intention to become famous in the city. Her application was for the position of merchandising manager at the DASH boutique in Calabasas, California, and got the job. The shop was relocated from Calabasas to West Hollywood, California, in 2012. The store's temporary home at Southampton, New York opened it's doors to the public in the year 2014. The show was a spin-off show "Kourtney and Khloe Take The Hamptons" as she was working there. At first, it was considered that the producers were trying to figure out the reaction of viewers to the idea of a spin-off through a show featuring the DASH team.
